This page features side entrance gates. As with all forms of wooden gate, they can be constructed in several ways, depending upon the strength required and of course the cost.

The photos above show the front and rear of two pairs of fairly standard ledged and braced close boarded gates, they are a good solid, strong gate constructed of vertical boards with a one inch overlap. They are normally hung using 18" tee hinges, a ring latch and a pad bolt. These gates are supplied treated. The wood has a sawn rough finish. They are also available with a full frame. Same as above, but with a section of matching close board to close off the gap at the side.

The photographs on the left show a full framed, ledged & braced tongue & grooved gate, which is smooth to the touch and ideal for painting or staining. They are also available in the cheaper ledged & braced style. Furniture normally consists of a pair of 18” tee hinges, ring latch & pad bolt. The gate on the far left has a mortice lock fitted. We’ve recently started fitting custom made gate locks if required.
